What is Vesicare 5mg and 10mg Tablet?

Vesicare is a prescription medication that is used to treat a combination of symptoms that cause a sudden, uncontrolled need or urge to urinate. It is also used to treat incontinence, a bladder problem that causes a person to experience urine leakage.

How Does Vesicare Work?

The bladder is an organ located in the pelvis whose walls relax and expand to store urine or contract to release it to the urethra. Diabetes, hormonal changes, neurological disorders among other conditions are responsible for causing muscles of the bladder to start contracting involuntarily to release urine into the urethra even when the level of urine in the bladder is low. This condition is known as having an overactive bladder and can affect both adults and children, causing them to experience frequent and sudden urges to urinate. Vesicare belongs to a class of drugs called antimuscarinics that work by relaxing the muscles of the bladder and improving a person�s ability to control their urination.

Warnings

  • Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently used any prescription medication

  • Do not take Vesicare if you have any stomach disorder or an untreated glaucoma
  • Do not take Vesicare without your doctor�s approval if you are suffering from liver problems or kidney disease.

Directions

  • Always take Vesicare exactly as prescribed by your doctor or follow the directions provided on your prescription label.
  • You should not chew, break or crush the tablet, instead, swallow it whole with some liquid
  • You can take Vesicare with or without food.
  • The tablet can only be taken once a day
  • You should store Vesicare medication at room temperature far from moisture, heat, children or pets.

Ingredients

Vesicare contains:

  • Solifenacin Succinate 5 mg or 10 mg as the active ingredient
  • Hypromellose, Maize starch, iron oxide, lactose, magnesium stearate, macrogol, talc, titanium dioxide (E171) as the inactive ingredients.

Side Effects

Vesicare, like other medications, can also cause mild to serious side effects. Some of these side effects can go away without treatment with time, however, if any of the following symptoms persist, please seek immediate medical assistance.
