Description

What is Finacea 15% Gel?

Finacea 15% gel is a prescription medication used to treat acne vulgaris. It can also be used to treat the skin condition of rosacea. It contains the active ingredient called azelaic acid, which helps to reduce inflammation and redness.

How Does Finacea Work?

Finacea belongs to a class of drugs called retinoids, which are derivatives of vitamin A. It works by decreasing the production of sebum, an oily substance that can block pores and lead to pimples. It also helps to shed dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, preventing them from clogging pores. The azelaic acid in Finacea contains anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that reduce the number of bacteria on the skin by inhibiting their growth and reproduction. As a result, it reduces the symptoms associated with rosacea such as inflammation on the skin by improving the appearance of blood vessels on the skin.
