Description

What Are Citalopram Tablets?

The Citalopram Tablet is an oral prescription medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of panic attacks, and mood disorders such as depression. Citalopram is a type of Selective Serotine Reuptake Inhibitor (SS RI) that is meant to increase and balance serotonin levels in a person's brain.

The usual starting dose for depression is 20 mg per day. It can be adjusted based on individual response, but should not exceed 40 mg per day. For panic disorder, a lower initial dose of 10 mg may be prescribed to reduce the risk of anxiety that can occur at the beginning of treatment. Citalopram is usually taken once daily, and it is important to take it at the same time each day, either in the morning or evening. It may take 4-6 weeks to feel the full benefits of this medication
