Bactroban is an antibiotic medication that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the prevention of bacterial growth on the skin. It can be used to treat different types of skin infections.

Bactroban works by stopping the growth of these bacteria, inhibiting their ability to reproduce, killing them and relieving the body of any symptoms.
It is commonly used to treat boils, impetigo, cellulitis, and infected hair follicles, as well as cuts, wounds and blisters on the skin.
Bactroban ointment is only for external use and should not be ingested or placed into contact with eyes, wounded or blistered skin.
