What is ear micro-suction?
Ear micro-suction is the safest and most effective way to remove earwax. It works by inserting a low-pressure suction probe into the ear. One of our trained clinicians using a HD Digital Otoscope will control the probe to clear the ear canal of wax.
This procedure is painless and does not involve water being squirted into your ear canal like syringing does. It is a simple and clean procedure.
There will be a free follow-up/aftercare appointment if necessary, this will determine if you need to come back on a 3 or 6-month interval.
What to expect
Each appointment will take roughly 30 minutes.
One of our highly trained clinicians will carry out an assessment of your ears. During the examination, high-definition images and videos will be taken which will identify any presence of wax.
If there is wax present, provided it has been softened prior to attending, the clinician will proceed to remove the wax during the same consultation.
If we don’t find any wax, we will complete an ear health check within the £25 consultation fee.
If, during the examination, any further issues were identified, we will refer them over to our specialist Audiologist/ENT practitioner team for a remote review and feedback with advice within 24-48 hours.
In most cases, however, the initial problem is simply the presence of excessive wax and our fast and painless micro-suction procedure will clear the ear of debris or wax build-up. This procedure could immediately improve your hearing capabilities.
What to do before you come in
Please soften the wax at least 5 days before your appointment.
It is vital the wax is soft to make the procedure as comfortable and effective as possible. We recommend using Olive Oil ear drops, once to twice per day in the affected ear(s) and repeat for 5 consecutive days.

Please note that this is a private service. There is a £25 consultation fee. If wax is present, there is a £45 charge for one ear, or £80 for both and the £25 consultation fee will be deducted from the total you need to pay.
